A Jet2 plane carrying 238 passengers and seven crew was forced to make an emergency landing at faro airport yesterday (October 13) according to the Portuguese news agency Lusa.
A source from ANA airports told Lusa that the aircraft made the emergency landing due to a technical malfunction.
The aircraft was travelling between Tenerife in the Canary Islands to Manchester in the UK when it landed at Faro airport at around 4pm.
The ANA source told Lusa: “It was a normal landing, very smooth and like others that have occurred in the past at the request of the captain who has picked up a fault.”
There were no injuries sustained during the emergency landing and now the plane is at Faro airport where the damage to the aircraft can be calculated.
